F. James McGuire

Jim McGuire is the founder and CEO of McGuire Development Company (MDC), a real estate development firm involved in the Buffalo Niagara region and South Florida for nearly two decades.

Jim is a Rochester Institute of Technology graduate with a business administration degree. After five years in supercomputers and military electronics, Jim joined the McGuire Group Inc. family business in 1996. He was named CEO in 2002. Under Jim’s leadership, the company and its affiliates expanded their healthcare businesses and developed state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities.

After experiencing and witnessing frustration among commercial real estate customers and investors, Jim founded MDC in 2006 to provide a new approach based on transparency, open book processes, and no-mark-up change orders. The company has since become a significant player in the real estate industry, with millions of square feet of property under management.

In 2020, the family sold the McGuire Group Inc. and its affiliated healthcare businesses, enabling Jim and his team to intensify their focus on MDC real estate interests.

Jim passionately advocates for economic development and quality of life in Western New York. He is co-founder of 43 x 79, an organization that promotes economic development in the region and has served on the boards of several local businesses and charitable organizations.
